If you often suffer from constipation, then you are most likely to have Vata imbalance. Drink full glass of water in the morning to activate the mechanism for emptying the bowel. Try Thrifala tea in the morning or eat dry figs soaked overnight in the morning. Try to establish a routine whereby the bowels are evacuated at the same time every morning. Eat more steamed vegetables and avoid raw as it will increase Vata thereby causing bloating and tense abdomen. Avoid cold, fermented drinks and drink more warm water 3-4 times a day.
